Getting train tickets in Germany is a no-brainer because “Deutsche Bahn” has trains going pretty much anywhere and they got a good online store for buying and printing out tickets. Even buying tickets with your mobile is possible (tickets will be sent via MMS after purchase).

On the other hand: Getting cheap plane tickets is not so easy. You might find these websites useful:
